Journalism is another area of specialisation offered under this programme. Students will possess critical understanding and knowledge on various issues pertaining to the sociological aspects of journalism as well as useful skills in writing, reporting, photojournalism and desktop publishing.
YWP201E/3 - Photo Journalism
This course expose students to basic photography techniques to produce journalistic visual, discuss the visual in news reporting and debate legal and ethical issues pertaining to the practice of photo journalism.
YWP202/3 - News Writing 2
This course is an extension of Penulisan Berita 1. Students will be learning the various forms and kinds of writing for the print media. This includes writing `follow-ups’, various kinds of reviews (film, books, theatre etc), editorials, and captions. Student would be writing contributions and coverage for Berita Kampus.
YWP223/3 - Feature Writing
This course is about various steps involved in feature writing, from generating feature ideas to the production of a feature article. Various types of features are also discussed. Students will also be exposed to the writing techniques, writing strategies, the usage of language and word including elements to be avoided in writing.
YWP313E/3 - Newspaper Production 1
This is a practical course where students will be involved indirectly in the production of the fortnightly campus newspaper Berita Kampus. Students will be assisting final year students in the planning, writing, editing, and designing the layout of the newspaper.
YWP314/3 - Magazine Management And Publication
This practical course aims to expose students to the business of magazine production in a comprehensive and intensive manner. Students will be involved in the production of a camera-ready magazine. Students will learn the actual management and production of a magazine including the whole process of magazine production, from planning, gathering materials, writing, editing, lay out to end up as a camera ready magazine.

To train students in producing seminar papers and presentation as well as assessing their ability in making connection between theory and practice.
YWP408E/3 - Newspaper Production 2
This is a practical course where students will be involved in the production of the fortnightly campus newspaper Berita Kampus. Students will be involved in the planning, writing, editing, and designing the layout of the newspaper.
YWP409E - Managing Newspaper
This course will expose students to methods and process of publishing and newspaper management. The areas that will be emphasized are the duties and role of individuals who are responsible for the production of a newspaper. Other than the duties and responsibilities in the editorial section, other responsibilities in the editorial section, other responsibilities in the advertising, printing and circulation will be discussed.
